- Harry Potter remains a global phenomenon
- In the fourth part of the series, there is a deleted raunchy scene
- Here's what went down
The Harry Potter franchise has inspired many children and young people in recent years. Despite dark themes throughout the series, sexuality was hardly mentioned. There were kisses, but there was no trace of sex at Hogwarts.
However, there was supposed to be a scene in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire that suggests a more intimate exchange. The scene was shot but not included in the finished film.
'Harry Potter' sex scene was not shown in the film
In the removed scene, "Harry" is seen retiring to a courtyard at the school on the night of the big ball. There, he observes a couple kissing in a carriage, and the students are engaged in some steamy fun. The bucking and squeaking of the carriage and the fogged up windows give an idea of what is going on inside.
Suddenly Professor "Severus Snape" and "Igor Karkaroff" enter the courtyard and talk about a possible return of "Lord Voldemort". "Snape" interrupts the conversation to go about his teaching duties, and startles the couple in the carriage. Both students get ten points deducted for their school houses.
Also interesting:
The scene was obviously too sexual for the franchise's target audience, so it was removed from the final cut of the film. However, fans can watch the scene in the bonus material of the DVD releases or on YouTube.
