Friends fans have good reason to be excited, as the cast of the hit '90s sitcom has confirmed a reunion special is happening! The big news came today when Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, and Lisa Kudrow posted the same photo to Instagram.
With a caption that simply read "It's happening" alongside a photoshoot picture of the Friends cast, where each of the cast members tagged their former castmates and HBO Max, it wasn't hard for fans to put the pieces together. They also got a laugh from Matt LeBlanc's post, which had the same caption and tags but featured a very different picture... one that was intentionally of the M*A*S*H* cast, as a joke!
Friends reunion: set to be an "unscripted" special on HBO Max
According to Time, the Friends reunion special will be "unscripted". While it's uncertain whether that means the actors will be appearing as themselves or as their iconic characters in what HBO Max refers to as a "celebration of the beloved show," we do know that the Central Perk gang will be back in some form on WarnerMedia's new streaming service!
Having the exclusive rights to the Friends special is sure to draw subscribers in for HBO Max when the streaming platform launches, as fans will no doubt want to see what comes of this epic reunion that's been years in the making!
