Grey's Anatomy: The characters we lost too soon
In the season finale of season five, "George O'Malley" (T.R. Knight) is hit by a bus and dies as a result of the accident.
The next two onscreen deaths were quite the tragedy: "Reed Adamson" (Nora Zehetner) and "Charles Percy" (Robert wasr) were shot by a spree killer in season six.

The doctors on the show had a hard time saying goodbye.
"Mark Sloan" (Eric Dane) dies at the beginning of season nine as the result of a plane crash that occurs at the end of season eight. He suffers life-threatening injuries and falls into a coma.
On the other hand "Lexie Grey" (Chyler Leigh) was so badly injured in the same plane crash that she died on site
One of the most emotional moments in the show was the death of "Derek Shepherd" (Patrick Dempsey) in season 11. He died in a serious car accident. His wife "Meredith Grey" (Ellen Pompeo) was with him when his life support was shut off.
