Last year, Grey's Anatomy fans had to cope with saying goodbye to a series veteran: "Alex Karev" (Justin Chambers), who left the series after 16 seasons. However, the way his story ended left many viewers with mixed feelings.
The doctor not only left his job and his friends behind, but also his wife "Jo" (Camilla Luddington), who only found out in a letter revealing "Alex" had reunited with his ex, "Izzy Stevens" (Katherine Heigl).
Grey's Anatomy: Katherine Heigl on "Alex" - "Izzy" reunion
Now, "Izzy" actress Katherine Heigl has revealed what she thinks of the "Alex" - "Izzy" reunion. "I didn't see it," she confessed to ET, apparently no longer a Grey's viewer since her time on the show. But the fact that "Alex" and "Izzy" share twins and live on a ranch in Kansas surprised her quite a bit: "Wasn't he with someone?" she asked, surprised to learn of "Alex" and "Izzy's" reconnection.
Heigl also wasn't a fan of "Alex" fleeing from "Jo" with a letter, saying: "Listen, isn't that an a**hole move?" She probably speaks for the many fans who were unenthusiastic about the departure, but the farewell still made for one of the most emotional Grey's exits.
Asked if she could imagine a Grey's comeback, Heigl added: "I would never say never but it's not likely." Her whole heart is currently with her new Netflix series Firefly Lane. "I'm super focused on this show and my passion for it," the 42-year-old said.
The series is about two friends who have been going through life together for over 30 years. Together with Sarah Chalke, Heigl takes on one of the lead roles. The series premieres on Netflix on Feb. 3.
