In 2014 Universal Pictures announced that there would be at least three more films after Furious 7 (2015), and The Fate of the Furious (2017) is the most recent proof of that. But now it seems that Fast & Furious 9 is just around the corner! Originally set for release in April 2019, the new film was pushed back to April 2020, in order to make way for the spin-off Hobbs & Shaw.
This is everything we know so far:
As of today, the ninth movie of the The Fast and the Furious franchise has been filmed in Hertfordshire, England, but is also expected to take place in Los Angeles and London, and also in Thailand for the first time! Justin Lin, who has directed four consecutive Fast & Furious films will be the director once again, while Daniel Casey will be the screenwriter. Michael Fottrell and Chris Morgan will be the producers, alongside Vin Diesel who will be part of the main cast as well.
Who else will be part of the cast of Fast & Furious 9?
Some of the most popular Fast & Furious stars like Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, and Charlize Theron, will return for the upcoming film, while John Cena and Finn Cole will appear in it for the first time. Unfortunately Dwayne Johsnon recently announced that he won't be in Fast 9.
