A modern reimagining of the classic novel
The Invisible Man is described as a "modern reimagining" of H.G. Wells's "The Invisible Man" novel from 1897. The science fiction novel was adapted into many films over the course of the twentieth century - perhaps most notably in the classical horror film of the same title from 1933.
In the trailer, a noticeable difference is that the new film focuses on Elisabeth Moss's character rather than the scientist who gains invisibility. This perspective looks to add a psychological horror angle to the story, as Moss's character and her friends doubt her sanity.
