Disney+ just launched this week, warning "outdated cultural depictions" in some of its films.
A disclaimer that reads, "This program is presented as originally created. It may contain outdated cultural depictions," can be found in a select number of titles such as The Jungle Book, and Dumbo, being one example for the necessity of the warning due to some of the characters depicted on it like "Jim Crow."
Disney+ is expected to release more than 40 shows
Disney+ debuted this Tuesday with 10 original films, as well as series and specials; some of them were originally released in the 1940's and 1950's. The platform is expected to release more than 40 original shows in the upcoming months.
