In an interview with Sunday People, Grey confessed that the scene had been particularly difficult. "I remember the water being very, very, very cold", said Grey as she talks about her experience.

Not only was the cold an issue, Patrick Swayze had a severely injured knee at the time, which made shooting the scene all the more difficult. In spite of the rather grim situation, both actors were able to make the best out of it even though they couldn't stand each other.

Grey later explained during her interview that both of them struggled with the final dance scene. Swayze was still injured and had trouble lifting Grey above his head. To add insult to injury, the floor had just been painted, which made it difficult for both of them to dance without their shoes sticking to it.

Needless to say, both actors made their roles, the dancing and the lift all look effortless and the film is still a cult favourite today!
A remake of Dirty Dancing was released in May 2017 starring Abigail Breslin as "Baby".
