It seems Days of Our Lives is not coming to an end! Just last week it was announced that the cast members were released from their contracts following the season 55 wrap up. Now it was just revealed that the long-running soap, produced by Corday Productions Inc. and Sony Pictures Television has been renewed for a 56th season at NBC!

There will be a special Days of Our Lives class reunion

Earlier this week fans got to learn that a new Days of Our Lives digital series titled Last Blast Reunion would launch on November 29 on the DOOL App. It will feature nine characters from the 2000 season in a special class reunion. Brandon Beemer, Martha Madison, and Nadia Bjorlin, are reprising their roles, while Chadwick Hopson and Teressa Liane were added in recasting.

Days of Our Lives is one of the longest-running television shows in the world

Set in the fictional town of Salem and following the stories of the "Brady," "Horton" and "DiMera" families, DOOL debuted in 1965 and has run for more than 13,000 episodes. The show is one of the few daytime soaps that are still airing, with other ones being The Young and the Restless, General Hospitaland The Bold and the Beautiful.
