'Dance Moms' Season 1 Cast Today

Dance Moms is easily one of the most guilty please shows out there. We watched week after week of Abby going full throttle after her dancers and the moms stirring up petty drama. Only a select few of the season 1 cast continued on for future seasons. Do you remember the whole crew? Find out here what each season 1 cast member is up to today!

Abby Lee Miller's life has changed a lot since we first met her in season 1. She enjoyed a rapid rise to fame and then a rapid decline in reputation. Known for her very strict and sometimes cruel but effective teaching style, Abby's show skyrocketed. Then in 2016 Abby pleaded guilty to felony bankruptcy and sentenced to one year in federal prison but was released early for good behavior. She was then diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma and has become paraplegic. She earned her show back and worked hard to get her series back into the spotlight. Then during the Black Lives Matter Movement, Abby was posting in support which caught the eye of her former dancers of color. Some of her horrific behavior including mistreating one of her only dancers of color and saying statements like "I know you grew up in the HOOD with only a box of 8 crayons, but I grew up in the Country Club with a box of 64 - don't be stupid." Since then, Abby has admitted her past behavior and lost her show and has been trying to do better.

Maddie was the show superstar and is easily the most successful person to have come out of the series! Her fame quadrupled when she began to work with artist Sia for her music videos and live performances. When she was 16 she wrote her own memoir and said she owed a lot to Sia, who became her Godmother! When speaking about Abby Lee Miller, Maddie said "She's exactly how she is on the show... I feel like I had so much pressure on me to be the best in the room," and "Before I met Sia, I would say yes to a lot of things I didn't want to do... I'd be overwhelmed by the amount of work on my plate." Now Maddie is a dedicated actress and dancer and will even be in Steven Spielberg's West Side Story!

Mackenzie Ziegler (L), Maddie's younger sister was also heavily featured in the show. She has gone on to star in television productions and even began producing her own music! She even went on tour performing with Johnny Orlando and toured with her sister for dance workshops. She even competed on Dancing with the Stars: Juniors in 2018 and made it all the way to the finals!

Nia was frequently placed in "the bottom of the pyramid" and her mom often had to come to her defense when she was typecast in ethnic roles. She was the first African American member of the team and eventually, 4 followed in her footsteps although most left because of Abby's attitude or blatant racist mistreatment towards them. She was one of the longest-running original members who joined when the team was originally created. She was even one of the elite members who left the ALDC in season 7 to form The Irreplaceables. Nia is also an accomplished singer and will be going to the University of California, Los Angeles! Yes! UCLA!

Brooke Hyland has released a few of her own songs! She also graduated from Ohio University with an impressive degree! She and her sister eventually sued Abby Lee Miller for her abusive and cruel behavior and have not put in the effort to keep Abby in their life. Brooke is an influencer but also has a job in the fashion industry!

Brooke's younger sister Paige took up modeling! She also graduated high school and has begun studying at West Virginia University! She, like her sister, is also a social media influencer.

Chloe Lukasiak (L) and Christi Lukasiak (R) are both popular social media influencers. Chloe even released a book in 2017 called Girl on Pointe: Chloe's Guide to Taking On The World. She continues to practice dancing and has begun studying at Pepperdine University! 

Her mom Christi had feuds with just about everyone and was arguably the most jealous of the favoritism and recognition of Maddie. Christi was even recently slammed by former Dance Moms superstar JoJo Siwa for her rude behavior!

Maddie and Mackenzie's mom Melissa is doing quite well! She has even launched a podcast with some of the other moms called Because Mom Said So!

Kelly Hyland is also a part of Melissa Ziegler's podcast Because Mom Said So! She is enjoying being a mom and pursuing her own interests!
