William Petersen was taken to hospital this week after feeling unwell on the set of CSI: Vegas.

Today, TMZ reported that Petersen, 68, was shooting the CSI reboot on Friday, when he let the director know he was "feeling terrible." An ambulance was called to the set and Petersen was taken to a hospital in LA. He's since been discharged, thankfully.

CSI: Vegas actor William Petersen hospitalized this week

Petersen's rep told TMZ that his hospital stay was out of an "abundance of caution" but noted it was still "serious enough" to warrant a 911 call.

The rep added that the 68-year-old actor had been filming long days for a gruelling 12 weeks, so he may have been overworked or dealing with exhaustion.

Petersen is currently at work on CSI: Vegas, where he's returning to his former role as "Gil Grissom." The revival on CBS will debut on Oct. 6, and it comes six years after we last saw Petersen on CSI in 2015.
