'Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders': Where Is The Cast Today?

Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders was a crime series that aired two seasons on CBS (2016-2017). The Criminal Minds spin-off was short lived, receiving a mixed reception. But it had a solid fanbase and introduced a cast of new characters to the popular TV franchise.

Beyond Borders featured five main stars as the FBI's International Response Team (IRT). Led by actor Gary Sinise, the unit also consisted of stars Alana de la Garza, Daniel Henney, Tyler James Williams, and Anna Funke. Ultimately, the show was cancelled in 2017 after two seasons. On Beyond Borders, actor Gary Sinise starred as veteran FBI agent "Jack Garrett." He was the IRT unit chief who was also a happily married father of six. What's the popular star doing now?

Gary Sinise, also known for work on CSI: NY and as "Lt. Dan" in Forrest Gump, has moved on to a few films and one main TV role since Beyond Borders. The 65-year-old actor appeared in 2020 movies Good Joe Bell and I Still Believe, but he returned to a main TV role as "Dr. Robert Ellman" in season 4 of Netflix's 13 Reasons Why.

Former Law & Order star Alana de la Garza brought her talents to Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders as "Clara Seger," an IRT senior special agent. She was also a cultural anthropologist and linguist, who was said to speak 13 different languages.

Today, Alana de la Garza continues her storied career as a TV actress. Catch the 44-year-old star as SAC "Isobel Castille" on FBI and its spin-off FBI: Most Wanted, both on CBS.

Actor Daniel Henney portrayed SSA "Matt Simmons" in all 26 episodes of the show. He was a veteran, father of four, and skilled profiler, who after Beyond Borders joined the main Criminal Minds series for its final four seasons.

After Beyond Borders, Henney reprised his role in 46 more episodes as a main cast member on Criminal Minds. The popular show concluded in 2020. Today, the 41-year-old star continues voice work on Disney TV's Big Hero 6: The Series and he's set to appear in upcoming Amazon Prime series The Wheel of Time.

On Beyond Borders, actor Tyler James Williams starred as SSA "Russ Montgomery." He was an IRT technical analyst who also appeared in 10 episodes of the main series, where he befriended "Penelope Garcia." What's the star up to now?

"Monty" actor Tyler James Williams has been in high demand post-Beyond Borders. He had a main role on single-season series Whiskey Cavalier in 2019, a recurring role on Dear White People and parts in movies Detroit and The Argument. Look for him next in 2021 film The United States vs. Billie Holiday.

Rounding out the Beyond Borders main cast was "Mae Jarvis," portrayed by Annie Funke. She was the unit's medical examiner who was also close with "Matt." Where can we see her now?
