The 312th episode of Criminal Minds marked a first for original cast member A.J. Cook as she stepped behind the camera as director for the first time. The episode she had the pleasure of directing, was a wild one for audiences and fans alike.

A.J. Cook joined alumni of Criminal Minds cast that have stepped behind the camera to direct. Among some of the others are Matthew Gray Gubler, Joe Mantegna, Aisha Tyler, and Adam Rodriguez, which makes a total of five original cast members who got to try their hand at directing. According to TVLine, Cook says, "I think that's so great, that they open the door for us, and this is something that's not going to stop here. This is the next chapter for me, and I loved every second of it - the good, the bad, and the ugly!"
