Cops is the latest program to hit the cutting room floor in the aftermath of George Floyd's death and the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests.
The long-running reality crime series, best known during its 25-season run on Fox, was currently airing on Paramount Network.
Season 33 would've premiered on Monday, June 8, but the show was pulled the week earlier amid protests against police violence and racism. Now, Paramount Network has cancelled the show and cast serious doubt on its future.

Paramount Network cancels Cops ahead of season 33
"Cops is not on the Paramount Network and we don’t have any current or future plans for it to return," a spokesperson told Deadline.

The controversial yet popular series has long been criticized for its glorification of police and depiction of suspects.
Cops debuted on Fox in 1989 and ran for 25 seasons before moving to Spike TV in 2013. In 2018, the channel rebranded as Paramount Network, where Cops was set to enter its 33rd season this week.
Police programs and use of blackface leading to cancellations
Last week, A&E also pulled its police docuseries, Live P.D., and it's unclear if or when they'll bring it back to air.
Other fictional series including Little Britain and Come Fly with Me as well as the classic film Gone with the Wind have been targeted for their problematic depictions of race as the Black Lives Matter protests continue across the U.S. and around the world.
