At the beginning of the show, "Rebecca Howe" is a strong independent woman, who, with the help of her cooperation, receives ownership of the bar, where most of the show's scenes take place. Eventually, the original owner regains ownership of the bar, but "Rebecca" insists on staying and becoming the business manager.

Kirstie Alley moved on to star in the movie classic' Look Who's Talking' and several different TV shows including 'Veronica's Closet' (1997), 'Kirstie' (2013), and 'Scream Queens' (2016). "Woody Boyd" is the rather dimwitted bartender of the show. At the beginning of the show, "Woody" arrives from Hanover, Indiana to see "Coach," his pen pal. Upon finding out that "Coach" had sadly passed away, "Sam," the owner of the bar, hires him to take "Coach's" place.
