Bull cancelled: Michael Weatherly speaks out
The popular legal series is ending as Weatherly decided to move on. He broke the news with the following Twitter statement:
"Hello all! It's been my privilege to play Dr Jason Bull but after 6 Seasons of incredible storylines, I've decided it's time to pursue new creative challenges and bring his story to a close.
"It has been an honor to work with this talented cast, crew and writing/producing team who helped reinvent the legal drama. Stay tuned for a big series finish…Thanks to all the fans from the bottom of my heart. You will always be a part of our Bull family!"
Bull still has 12 more episodes to go this season, and it will get a proper series finale, as Weatherly teased.
The series was highly popular in its first few years, but ratings had been on a slight decline in recent seasons.
Bull has also been dogged by controversy, after star Eliza Dushku accused Weatherly of sexual harassment.
The actress was fired after she made the troubling allegations, and it became a major scandal at CBS. Still, Bull continued and kept Weatherly as leading man.
Weatherly, the former NCIS star, will now be free for new projects, and his fanbase will be watching for what comes next.
