Affleck to direct and star in Nike biopic with Damon
Affleck and Damon will portray the co-founders of the famous shoe brand in the movie, taking on the respective roles of Sonny Vaccaro and Phil Knight. The project doesn't have a title yet, but it does already have a director— none other than Affleck himself! The actor has also made a name for himself as a director over the years, helming movies like 2007's Gone Baby Gone and the 2012 Best Picture winner, Argo.
While Affleck and Damon have worked together several times, most recently in 2021's The Last Duel, this is the first time that he will have the chance to direct Damon.Of course, the duo's best known project together is the 1997 film Good Will Hunting, which marked their Hollywood debut— and also won them their first Oscars for the film's screenplay.

In the past, Affleck has jokingly taken credit for Damon's acting career, since Damon wanted to follow in his friend's footsteps at a young age. Their new movie is tied to three production studios — Amazon Studios, Skydance Sports and Mandalay Pictures — and will also see Damon and Affleck involved as producers.
