Michael Weatherly was last seen as "Tony DiNozzo" on NCIS in 2016. With Bull over, the NCIS showrunner just opened up about the chances of seeing Weatherly make a comeback — and it sounds pretty promising.
NCIS exec producer Steven D. Binder told TV Insider that he "would absolutely love" to have "Tony" guest star but that it is "going to depend on Michael Weatherly."
He explained that he and the actor are good friends and they have discussed a reunion in the past. However, the producer said it "seemed weird and not right" for Weatherly to appear on NCIS while he was on Bull.

So what's next for Michael Weatherly? Binder explained that his friend currently wants to "take some time off and rest." But on the NCIS reunion, he added: "It's just a question of whether or not it works out."
That's certainly good news for fans of NCIS and Michael Weatherly. Viewers always adored him as "Tony" with "Ziva" on the show. The 53-year-old has also been posting on Twitter about NCIS non-stop in recent months.
The actor is also coming off a sexual harassment scandal behind the scenes on Bull, which damaged his reputation. So it'll be interesting to see what comes next for Michael Weatherly.
