HBO Max is WarnerMedia's new streaming platform that is set to launch in the spring of 2020. They will be the exclusive home of Friends, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Pretty Little Liars and now a Gossip Girl reboot.
New Gossip Girl Reboot
The new series will pick up eight years after the original Gossip Girl site went dark. This means that a new generation of rich Upper-East-Siders will be introduced to "Gossip Girl" herself. This new group is going to "address just how much social media - and the landscape of New York itself - has changed in the intervening years," according to E!News.
Will the original cast be back?
At his point, it is unknown whether any of the original cast will be included in the reboot. We know that we would love to see Blake Lively, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick and/or Leighton Meester make a comeback! Kristen Bell was also the voice of "Gossip Girl" in the original CW series that ran for six seasons from 2007 to 2012.
Original series creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage will be executive producers on the reboot. The original executive producer, Joshua Safran will also be producing and writing the reboot. Stay tuned for further updates...
