The nominations for the 2021 Oscars have been announced, honouring many of the noteworthy films that were released over the past year! On Monday, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas revealed the full list of nominees, which sees old Hollywood biopic Mank leading with 10 Oscar nods, including Best Picture. This year's Oscars also marks some historic firsts for the Academy!
Chloé Zhao received a nomination for Nomadland, while Emerald Fennell picked one up for Promising Young Woman. This makes it the first time two women have been nominated for Best Director— with Zhao being the first nominated woman of colour in the category. As well, Steven Yeun has become the first Asian-American actor to be nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role after starring in Minari!
