• Princess Beatrice celebrated her birthday
  • She has turned 35
  • THIS is who spent it with her

It's always newsworthy when a member of the British royal family completes one more lap around the sun. On August 8, Princess Beatrice turned 35 years old, and was congratulated by friends, family, and members of the public alike. And it was a very sweet day for her, because she had her favorite people around her. Princess Beatrice celebrated her birthday with a 'Fairy Picnic'. The guests of honor were her daughter Sienna and mom Sarah Ferguson or "Fergie."

Who wouldn't want an invitation to this party?

Sarah Ferguson was very happy about her daughter's birthday shenanigans. The Duchess of York, 63, revealed the cute way in which she celebrated the occasion with Beatrice and Sienna on the latest episode of her podcast 'Tea Talks with the Duchess and Sarah.' The podcast is a real crowd-pleaser and gives great insight into the royal family. That's how we know that this birthday party had a theme: a "fairy picnic."

Fergie told listeners about the garden party while catching up with her co-host Sarah Thomson on last Wednesday's episode. Apparently, it was her big idea. Fergie said she set up a fairy hunt and picnic for Beatrice’s daughter to enjoy. So who was really the birthday girl here? This is how Fergie detailed it all:

Also interesting:

"I hid many different fairies in the garden, and I sent Sienna on a fairytale hunt to find the fairies with wings on. She lasted with the wings on for quite a while before Beatrice and I put the wings on," she explained. "And then we had a fairy picnic once she'd found the fairies, and that was a magical day for Beatrice's birthday." And when royals play, they play hard!

"I seriously was making Sienna understand there were fairies that are living in the oak tree in the garden, so she had to go and find the little door to the fairy department store, which is the oak tree [...] Of course, that's my next book I've just started writing, about the department store with the Sluggington Smyths, which are a slug family."

Fergie is a big time child author now, and she knows how to make the day special. All in all, it seemed to be a pretty perfect time for Princess Beatrice and company. Listeners also found out last week that Fergie and Sienna had been blowing up balloons in anticipation of the big day.

It's so nice to see a heartwarming royal family moment!
