People around the globe got a rare glimpse into the private quarters of Queen Elizabeth II on Wednesday, when a picture of her weekly audience with the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was shared on the royal family's official Instagram account.
The Queen and Boris Johnson: Weekly audience over the phone
While the Queen usually hosts the PM at Buckingham Palace, their weekly audience took place over the phone this week since she has relocated to Windsor Castle. The picture gives us some great insight into Windsor Castle, where the Queen is apparently still using an old rotary phone. Why change things when they still work?
The Queen has been at Windsor Castle since last week, where she was reunited with her husband Prince Philip, who is reportedly in good health in times of the coronavirus outbreak. The royal couple headed to Windsor for their easter break earlier than usual because of the pandemic.
She will certainly have listened closely to Johnson's advice regarding self-isolation during their call, after her son Prince Charles tested positive for the coronavirus on Wednesday. The Prince of Wales is displaying only "mild symptoms" at the moment, according to a statement from Clarence House.
