While Duchess Meghan's (37) father Thomas Markle (74) repeatedly makes questionable accusations in interviews, and her sister continues to criticise her at every opportunity, the Duchess of Sussex and the British Royal Family have so far done a remarkable job at keeping their composure and have not reacted, at least not publicly.
Duchess Meghan: Support from the Queen
Support now comes not only from Duchess Catherine (36), but also from none other than Queen Elizabeth II (92). On Meghan's 37th birthday, which she celebrated at a friend's wedding, the Royal Family showed that they have their newest member's back.
On the official Instagram page @theroyalfamily, the team posted a sweet snapshot of the Queen and the Duchess on their first ever public engagement together. The royal family congratulated Meghan on her birthday with the following words: "Happy Birthday to HRH The Duchess of Sussex!"
Positive reaction to the Queen's statement
The statement demonstrated the solidarity between the Royal Family, and the Queen especially, and Meghan. The post received almost 290,000 likes, as well as numerous comments. We are sure that this must have pleased Duchess Meghan, who used to be very active on social media, until she had to delete her private profiles on Instagram and other platforms back in January.
Moreover, it seems that Queen Elizabeth II has forgiven Meghan for her fashion faux pas. We are happy that the Queen doesn't seem to take the royal style rules as seriously as we would have thought.
