Finally after nearly 8 months since the royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex has received four royal patronages. Two of these patronages have been passed down from the Queen, being patron of the National Theatre and patron of the Association of Commonwealth Universities. The Queen had previously held those roles for 45 and 33 years respectively according to Hello Magazine.
Her Patronages Reflect Her Passions
Meghan Markle's other two royal patronages consist of the animal rescue charity The Mayhew and the female employment cause Smart Works. All four organizations that the Duchess has become patron of reflect the causes and issues in which she has long been associated with and is very passionate about. With Meghan's previous career as an actress, these organizations reflect her love and passion for the arts, access to education and support for women and animal welfare as stated by Kensington Palace.
The Duchess of Sussex is due with her child in early spring, but sources say that she is committed to visiting all four organizations before she goes on her maternity leave. We are very excited for the Meghan Markle as she embarks on her royal patronage duties and we cannot wait to hear continual updates on her role as patron!
