- Royal New Year receptions in Copenhagen
- Royal enthusiasm in Denmark
- Queen Mary's fashion highlight
On January 6, 2025, King Frederik (56) and Queen Mary (52) of Denmark hosted their traditional New Year's reception, welcoming a distinguished group of guests. The event began at Christian VII Palace, where members of the Supreme Court, officers from the Royal Guard, and the Hussar Regiment were received.
The second reception took place at Christiansborg Palace, attended by heads of mission from the diplomatic corps, their spouses, and deployed ambassadors. However, all eyes were on Queen Mary.
Queen Mary's fashion highlight
One of the standout moments of the evening was Queen Mary's stunning choice of outfit. She wore a glamorous dress by American designer Teri Jon by Rickie Freeman, known for its clean lines and elegant details.
The floor-length dress, featuring a stand-up collar and concealed button placket, was beautifully paired with a white turtleneck, classic pumps, and a clutch. Mary's husband, King Frederik, complemented her elegance in his traditional military uniform.
One surprising detail, however, is that this is not the first time Queen Mary has worn the dress. She previously wore it during a visit to Greenland in July 2024, where she also made a grand entrance.
Enthusiasm on Instagram for the royals
The Danish royal palace shared glimpses of the events on social media, posting pictures from the New Year's reception on Instagram. The response from followers was overwhelming, with many fans applauding the "elegance and dignity" of King Frederik and Queen Mary.
