Queen Elizabeth II will be the longest reigning Monarch in history! Next year will be her Platinum Jubilee year.

Queen Elizabeth's 70 Year Reign

The Royal family has just announced the plans for Her Majesty's 70 year anniversary as the Queen of England! On June 2nd,  1952 when she was simply Princess Elizabeth, she ascended the throne at 25 years old. 

For the year in preparation which begins today, the royal family will be traveling the country to prepare and celebrate with the public.

On their social media page, the family announced the dates of the celebration and what will be planned. "Her Majesty The Queen will celebrate her Platinum Jubilee from Thursday 2nd - Sunday 5th June 2022."

"The weekend will provide an opportunity for communities throughout the UK to come together to celebrate this historic milestone."

The weekend will include the Trooping the Colour, a live concert, a Jubilee Lunch, a Platinum Jubilee Pageant, and platinum Jubilee Beacons will be lit all around the United Kingdom and overseas territories in her honour. 

Each event will be more extravagant than ever before, with the Trooping of the Colour parade featuring 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horse, and 400 musicians. the Pageant will have 5,000 participants from all across the country, and the Platinum Party at the Palace will have "the worlds biggest entertainment stars" to celebrate. 

Her Majesty has had an incredibly inspiring reign, keeping the country strong through some of the most difficult times so the commonwealth is excited to celebrate her 70 years as Queen.
