Simon Bowes-Lyon, a cousin of Queen Elizabeth II, was quietly released from prison in Scotland last week, according to The Sunday Times.
He'd only served half of a 10-month prison sentence for a sexual assault conviction from early 2021, which stemmed from an attack on a woman at a royal residence in February 2020.

Bowes-Lyon, the Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, is a first cousin twice-removed of the Queen. Though he apparently left prison last week in Perth, Scotland, the news of Bowes-Lyon's early release only came out today, Aug. 5.
