- Princess Kate had to endure a lot during her pregnancies
- She suffered from an illness
- That's how difficult it was for her
Every pregnancy is different - and Princess Kate's was particularly complicated. Prince William's wife suffered from an illness that certainly pushed her to her limits on many occasions.
More info:
We are talking about hyperemesis gravidarum, a particularly severe form of morning sickness. Those affected vomit massively, which can lead to weight loss, dehydration and other problems. Such effects are of course particularly dangerous for a pregnant woman with an unborn child.
Princess Kate's illness: what helped her
A few years ago, Princess Kate revealed how difficult it was for her to deal with the illness in the 'Happy Mum, Happy Baby' podcast. She was "not the happiest of pregnant people".
Eventually, she managed to help herself with meditation and breathing exercises. "I saw the power of it really, the meditation and the deep breathing and things like that, that they teach you in hypnobirthing, when I was really sick, and actually I realised that this was something I could take control of, I suppose, during labour. It was hugely powerful."
Even when Princess Kate was so unwell during her pregnancies, she battled through the symptoms three times to welcome her three children. And even after the birth of Prince Louis, her youngest child, Kate repeatedly spoke openly about getting baby fever from time to time and not being against having a fourth child.
