Princess Eugenie had surgery to correct her scoliosis when she was twelve years old and her surgery took place at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital where the Princess is a Patron. Princess Eugenie along with her husband Jack and her father Prince Andrew, attended an official opening for the new Stanmore Building at the hospital.
A Robot Named Pepper
They learned how the $65 million building combines the latest architectural design and health technology with beautiful contemporary art to create a unique and vibrant environment for patients. They also had the pleasure of meeting a new state of the art robot named Pepper who has the ability to converse with people, follow instructions and even play games! Pepper is located in the children's ward of the hospital and the Princess thought he was pretty adorable.
"An honour to be here"
According to People, Princess Eugenie spoke and said, "it is such an honour to be here today, I feel like my bones and my blood are a part of this building, I learnt on this visit today that we all share in something with this building because we care, and so to us it is very important that we are here opening this new building and that Jack, as my newly married husband on his first event, has been able to come and see where I had my operation."
We are so happy that Princess Eugenie got to experience such a wonderful royal engagement yesterday with her husband and her father. We know how much the hospital means to her and her family.
