- New title for Princess Charlotte
- So this is a special honor
- A royal will not like this decision
Will Princess Charlotte (7) soon be given a very special honor? After the death of the Queen (†96) in September 2022, Charlotte's grandfather Charles (74) became Britain's King. In this capacity, he can make important decisions regarding the royal family.
Princess Charlotte will soon wear this royal title
A source tells The Sun that King Charles has decided to give his granddaughter a new title soon. Here's how Charlotte is to be made Duchess of Edinburgh!
The title is so special because it was previously worn by the late Queen. "It would be a fitting way to remember the Queen – who, of course, had the title Duchess of Edinburgh – and a way for His Majesty to honour the line of succession," the source told The Sun.
However, one of the British royals will not like it
Should this actually happen, it would still be a surprising decision. Originally, the title was supposed to go to Prince Edward (58), according to a royal insider from Mail on Sunday.
Also interesting:
Accordingly, Edward is said to have been promised the title by the Queen and her husband Prince Philip (†99) if he married Sophie Wessex (57), which happened in 1999. In that case, he should receive the title after Prince Philip's death.
However, this now appears to be out of date, and Princess Charlotte is set to become the next Duchess of Edinburgh in place of Edward.
