The Monaco Sevens rugby tournament opened on Tuesday — and Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène caused a sensation as guests of the event. Charlène's brother Gareth Wittstock and Minister of State Pierre Dartout were also in attendance.

But one detail in particular caught the eye: Charlène's new hairstyle. Once again she's shown the courage to experiment. She's now rocking a longer variation of her punk-inspired look and, with it, wore a wine-red blazer, black pants, and a matching black mask.

It's not the first style transformation for the Princess of Monaco. In December of last year, she shaved one side of her head, in what was a daring look for a royal. The style has now grown into a short bob with a sidecut.
Charlène inspires with new look at rugby event
But Princess Charlène impressed not only with her new hairstyle. Her outfit received attention for being perfectly coordinated wit her husband's: Charlene and Albert attended the opening in a matching look.
The reason for the style choice is easily explained: The jackets were adorned with the coat of arms of the Monegasque rugby association, La Fédération Monégasque de rugby. Charlène and Albert weren't the only guests who opted for this look at the event.
In recent months, Charlène has been keeping fans up to date with family pictures of her and Albert's twins, and she also spoke out in support of her marriage amid rumours of infidelities and divorce plans.
