In the case of the Norwegian royal family, their Christmas tradition involves a church service followed by spending the afternoon at Kongsseteren, their private home in Oslo.
King Harald has the country's good wishes with him
Unfortunately on December 19 it was announced that King Harald was ill and had to be taken to the national hospital for several days. Norway was shocked by the sudden news. The official statement read like this:
