Her husband Prince William and their children George, Charlotte and Louis can also be seen in the video. The family spends time in nature, on the beach and playing with Kate's parents.
Princess Kate emphasizes that she will "continue to take each day as it comes" and that the road to full recovery is still long. She also confirms that she will return to public appearances as soon as she is able.
In her speech, Kate explains: "As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment." She describes the last few months as a time in which "life as you know it can change in an instant" and she and her family had to find a way to "navigate the stormy waters and road unknown."
"The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you." She also talks about the humility that this experience has brought and the new perspective she has gained: "This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved."
Kate concludes by thanking everyone for the support she and her family have received. She also has words for others who are continuing their own cancer journey: "To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light so let that light shine bright."
In March, the Princess of Wales made it public for the first time that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy.
