- King Charles is diagnosed with cancer
- The monarch pauses the treatment
- This is the reason
King Charles, 75, was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year in February, following prostate surgery. Since his diagnosis, he has been receiving weekly treatments, according to the 'Daily Mail'. However, for the first time, Charles has decided to pause these treatments.
King Charles’ Upcoming Plans: Why His Treatment Must Be Paused
On October 18, King Charles will begin an almost two-week tour to Australia and Samoa. As a result, the monarch will miss a total of 11 days of cancer treatment, according to reports by the 'Daily Mail'.
The 75-year-old will continue his treatments until his departure and resume them upon his return. His doctors have agreed that a short break during this time is manageable, allowing him to proceed with the trip.
However, some fans are concerned that King Charles may be pushing himself too hard. He and Queen Camilla are scheduled to have a busy itinerary, with up to 10 engagements per day. Nevertheless, it is reported that these commitments were planned in consultation with his doctors to ensure that the King doesn't overextend himself.
This will be King Charles’ first major international trip since his cancer diagnosis, and his decision to briefly pause his treatment for it reflects his deep commitment to his role as head of Great Britain and the Commonwealth.
