- King Charles has a heartfelt birthday gift for his nation
- On Nov. 14 he will launch The Coronation Food Project
- For his 75th birthday
King Charles (74) is set to celebrate his birthday in a unique and impactful way. The royal is launching an innovative program, The Coronation Food Project, aiming to combat food waste and provide for those in need.
Helping people and helping the planet
The project, which is launching on Nov. 14, the King's 75th birthday, seeks to "bridge the gap between food waste and food need," according to the palace. The initiative will operate across the United Kingdom, with the royal couple spending part of the day touring a surplus food distribution center outside London.
King Charles, a renowned conservationist, and Queen Camilla (76) will meet staff and volunteers, learning about “the ways food waste can be used for social good.” This initiative aligns perfectly with the King's ethos, who even powers his Aston Martin DB6 Volante sports car with bioethanol made from wine and cheese!
