The Swedish monarch King Carl Gustaf had to undergo surgery on Monday. It was a non-invasive heart procedure which had been planned in advance.
Nevertheless, there was still some risk, and the Swedes were worried about their King. Now the palace announces: The surgery was a success.
King Carl Gustaf: Official update after his surgery
In an official statement the palace says: "The operation went according to plan and the King is doing well.
"The King thanks for all the support and the warmth shown to him and feels grateful for Swedish healthcare."
Now the royal will spend time recovering. He is expected to resume normal work in March, the palace said previously.
