- Kate ignites royal fitness trend!
- She also talks about her competitive side
On a recent episode of 'The Good, The Bad & The Rugby' podcast, hosted by Princess Anne's son-in-law, Mike Tindall, Kate revealed her frosty fitness secret. Our beloved Princess is not afraid to plunge into the cold!
The royal fitness routine
The colder, the better, according to the Princess! "I absolutely love it," she confessed, even as Prince William called her crazy for her love of the icy plunge.
During a meet-and-greet in Wales, Kate shared that she has a robe for after her swims, a tidbit shared with a rain-soaked well-wisher wearing a robe to keep warm. "She said she wears one of them when she goes cold water swimming," local mom Alison Cheeke told 'PEOPLE'.
More Princess Kate news:
According to Harvard Public Health, cold water swimming can provide mental health benefits alongside physical exercise, although the evidence is mixed. But with Kate's endorsement, we might see a surge in this frosty fitness trend!
The competitive Princess
The podcast also touched on Kate's competitive side. "I'm not going to say you're uber competitive," Mike said, hinting that she really was. The Princess, however, coyly replied, "I'm not competitive at all." But Mike was quick to counter, "I've seen her play beer pong!"
When asked if any of their competitiveness had passed down to their children — Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (8), and Prince Louis (5) — Kate admitted that they are growing and trying out different sports. "It's going to be interesting to see how that grows and develops," she said.
