Besides her famous love of corgis, the Queen also had a fascination with horses and equestrian riding. And her love affair with them started when she was just a little girl, growing up in the Palace. Elizabeth received her first horse, a Shetland pony, at age four and went on to own dozens of horses throughout her life!
Elizabeth and her horses will always be remembered
It was the beginning of a life-long obsession with one of man's best friends. Some years later, the Queen also inherited her father's line of championship race horses with which she even won a few tournaments!
