For the first time, E! News in 2021 posted a picture from the filming of the fifth season of The Crown. The picture posted to Instagram showed Elizabeth Debicki as Diana in her revenge dress.
The actress who looks different in real life got out of a car in an almost identical version of Diana's famous outfit. The royal wore the plunging black dress, along with a statement pearl necklace, to a gala event in June 1994.
The title "revenge dress" came to be because Diana wore the unusually daring look on the day Prince Charles (74) made his infidelity public. The two had been separated since 1992 and finally settled their divorce two years later, in 1996.
