Diagnosed in January with desmoplastic small round cell tumour, a rare and aggressive form of cancer, Liz remained unwavering in her passion for photography until the very end. Her mother, Vicky Robayna, shared the heartbreaking news on X, formerly Twitter, writing: "Our incredible daughter Liz died in the early hours of this morning. She remained determined to the last."

In January, Liz began her "photography bucket list," dedicating her remaining time to capturing meaningful experiences. Despite a devastating prognosis of six months to three years to live, she collaborated with renowned photographers like Rankin and captured portraits of celebrities, including comedian Michael McIntyre. Her extraordinary work was celebrated in an exhibition in London, supported by British Land and Getty Images, showcasing her talent and resilience.

On October 2, Liz experienced a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to photograph the investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle, a privilege personally arranged by Prince William. During the event, Liz had the chance to meet Princess Kate, an enthusiastic amateur photographer herself, who welcomed her with a warm hug.
Reflecting on the meeting, Princess Kate shared on social media: "We are so sorry to hear that Liz Hatton has sadly passed away. It was an honour to have met such a brave and humble young woman. "
Liz later described the encounter as "quite a mind-blowing, overwhelming experience," sharing her admiration for how William and Kate came across as "like normal people," leaving a lasting and profound impression on her.
