The Most Significant Differences Between Duchess Catherine and Duchess Meghan
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan were the most recent royals to visit New Zealand. They were recently welcomed into the country with open arms in October 2018 while on their sixteen day royal tour. On Tuesday, the couple payed tribute to the lives that were lost in the horrific terrorist attack where a 28-year-old man opened fire on two mosques in Christchurch just 5 days ago.
Surprise Visit to Pay Their Respects
Walking hand in hand, the royal couple made a surprise visit to New Zealand House in London late Tuesday afternoon to sign a book of condolences for the victims. Meghan wrote "Our deepest condolences. We are with you." Harry signed his name as well with "Arohanui" which means "best wishes" in Maori.
The couple were greeted by High Commissioner Sir Jerry Mateparae and Deputy Hugh Commissioner David Evans with a hongi, which is a traditional New Zealand nose rub. Harry and Meghan were asked to represent the royal family because they are the most recent royal visitors to have set foot in the beautiful country of New Zealand.
Meghan Wears Special Jewelry
Duchess Meghan also wore special jewelry to honour New Zealand and those lives that were lost. She wore gold Boh Runga Discologo stud earrings that were given to her as a gift from New Zealand's Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, during their royal tour according to People.
