Buckingham Palace has just released a scary statement about Sophie, Countess of Wessex, and her brush with the coronavirus.
Sophie, Countess of Wessex Forced To Self Isolate
According to Hello! Buckingham Palace has just released a statement saying, "Earlier this week The Countess of Wessex came into contact with someone who subsequently tested positive for COVID-19. Her Royal Highness is not experiencing any symptoms, but is following all relevant government guidelines and is self-isolating at home."
Prince Edward's wife will be confined to her gorgeous Surrey Mansion, the Bagshot Park home she, the Prince, and their children Lady Louise and James, Viscount Severn reside. All of her Royal engagements have been canceled or postponed for the time being to be safe.
One of the 55-year old Sophie's latest public engagement was running with disabled athlete Tomas Cardillo-Zallo while taking part in the worldwide virtual Virgin Money London Marathon. With her help, he was able to run his first-ever marathon, the full 26.2-miles!
Tomas and Sophie were running in support of Mencap, the UK learning disability charity she is a patron of. She also visited the National Space Center to "see first-hand the educational programmes on offer."
Many will remember that her brother in law, Prince Charles, contracted the virus back in March. He fought the symptoms hard and is now back in good health. We hope the best for the Countess.
