In the trailer for Elizabeth: A Portrait in Parts, McCartney declares: "We grew up loving the Queen. To us teenagers, she was a babe!"
Born in 1942, McCartney was 9 years old when Queen Elizabeth, then 25, ascended the throne. So his teen years and most of his childhood were during the young Queen's reign.
The two have connected several times over the years, including when Sir Paul was knighted in 1997 for his services to music.
