• Queen Elizabeth II's death is coming to its first anniversary
  • The day will also double as Charles' Accession day
  • THIS is what Charles and Camilla are planning

It will be a bittersweet time for the royal family. The end of the summer will come with an emotional anniversary for King Charles and Queen Camilla as September 8 will mark one year since the death of Queen Elizabeth and the accession of Charles into the throne. It's already here. Nearly a year ago the queen died in Scotland at 96 years old. Just a few hours previous to her passing being confirmed, her personal handlers had said that they were "concerned" for her health. As the story goes, she passed on and her eldest son Charles took power.

Charles will carry on with the tradition

King Charles and Queen Camilla will be spending the day quietly and privately. This is exactly what Queen Elizabeth used to do herself. There don't seem to be any sort of public events in the plan, and it is unlikely that Charles will give out an address to his subjects. The royal couple will likely spend the anniversary at Balmoral Castle, the royal family’s private residence in the Scottish Highlands. The site is known to be one of the late queen's favorite places. She would usually be there in August. And usually, the royal family would all end up convening there to observe tradition and many rituals.

Also interesting:

Elizabeth liked to spend her Accession Days in isolation and quiet. Perhaps to reflect, or perhaps to take a breather. Charles will be doing the same, it seems. It's a small gesture, but it's a fine way to honor the monarch that initiated him into the position of King.

Elizabeth used them as opportunities to withdraw. And she did plenty of that, since these days come once a year, and she reigned for 70 of them!
