- Queen Elizabeth may have been back luck
- Was her blue wedding attire cursed?
- These are the unfortunate outcomes of those marriages
Queen Elizabeth's blue wedding outfits were bad luck for her family
The beloved late Queen Elizabeth was famous for her bright wardrobe and fun outfits, and her attendance at weddings was no different. She loved to wear blue in particular, but it became sort of a bad luck charm in the end.
She attended her sister Margaret's wedding, as well as those of three of her children, all while wearing something blue. While this is a classic wedding tradition in some ways, these particular instances were anything but lucky.
In her sister's case, the Queen wore a stunning blue dress, diverting from traditional royal wedding attire. However, the happy marriage would last 18 years, but would end with Margaret and the Earl of Snowden divorcing in 1978.
Does the blue signal an impending divorce?
The Queen's daughter, Princess Anne, was also apparently cursed by her mother's blue attire at her wedding in 1973. Her marriage lasted 19 years, but eventually also ended in divorce.
The bad luck continued in 1981 for the wedding of the century; then Prince Charles and Lady Diana. The Queen once again sported a stunning blue dress, and once again the marriage ended on divorce.
The blue curse struck once more in 1986 at the wedding of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. The Queen opted for a light blue outfit, and a decade later, the Prince and Sarah were divorced.
Also Interesting:
Luckily, the Queen must have picked up on this unfortunate trend, because the last few royal wedding have seemed to escaped the bad luck of the blue. Queen Elizabeth wore purple for Prince Edwards wedding, a yellow dress for Prince William's wedding to Kate and sported a light green outfit for Prince Harry and Meghan's big day.
