Danish media, including 'Billed Bladet', quote the palace's head of communications, Lene Balleby: "Queen Margrethe was admitted to Rigshospitalet yesterday evening after a fall at Fredensborg Castle. The Queen is doing well under the circumstances, but is currently in hospital for observation." No further details of the incident were disclosed.
Queen Margrethe has been struggling with health problems for years, including having to undergo back surgery in February 2023.
