George Jones born in 1931, is most well-known for his hit "He Stopped Loving Her Today" and over 150 other hits! Up until his death in 2013 he was frequently called the greatest living country singer, and his influence on the country genre is unparalleled! 

Loretta Lynn had a big impact on country music and was known for hits including "You Ain't Woman Enough (To Take My Man)" and "Coal Miner's Daughter". She appeared in the 1980 biographical film Coal Miner's Daughter and you could often catch her on stage at the Grand Ole Opry. Loretta passed away in 2022.

Johnny and June Carter Cash may be one of the most well-known couples in country music and their contribution to country music continues to be seen to this day. Johnny Cash is known for hits "I Walk the Line" and "Ring of Fire", while June Carter Cash is known for her hits "The Heel" and "Wildwood Flower". The country music community mourned the passing of both June and Johnny in 2003, and the couple left behind 4 children.

Merle Haggard, born during the Great Depression, had a rough childhood and early adult life, spending time in and out of jail. These experiences helped to shape much of the music he would later write and he is known for hits such as "I'm a Lonesome Fugitive" and "Mama Tried". The country music community lost a legend with his death in 2016. 

Jennings along with Willie Nelson, was crucial to the beginning of outlaw country and is known for composing hits including "Just to Satisfy You" and The Dukes of Hazard Theme Song. He was also apart of the group The Highwaymen, which included Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, and Willie Nelson. Up until his death in 2002, he continued to contribute to the country music community and he has gone down as a country music legend. 

Kris Kristofferson is a country music singer and songwriter, and is also successful on the big screen as an actor. Some of his hit songs include "Me and Bobby McGee" and "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down", while he has starred in films including Heaven's Gate and A Star is Born. Kristofferson continues to contribute to country music and lives in Texas with his family. 

91-year-old Willie Nelson may be one of the most influential country music stars ever and his work has impacted many! He is famous for hits including "On the Road Again" and "To All the Girls I've Loved Before". Today he is known for his activism in legalizing marijuana and stopping the use of bio-fuels.

Dolly Parton is most well-known for her hits "I Will Always Love You" and "Jolene". In addition to being a talented singer is also a successful actress and businesswomen. In 1982 she starred in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, which one her a Golden Globe, and she even has her own amusement park and luxury hotel in Tennessee called Dollywood! 

65-year-old Tucker became a famous country singer in 1972 when she was still a teenager! Some of her hit songs include "Delta Dawn" and "What's Your Mama's Name". Tucker is one of the only female country stars who made it into the Outlaw country movement and continues to influence country music to this day!

Hank Williams Jr. is the son of country legend Hank Williams and has now become a legend himself with hits such as "Family Tradition" and "Born to Boogie". He is still producing music today with his most recent hit in 2017, "All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight" becoming a staple for Monday Night Football.
