Kanye West came through for kids in need this Christmas.
Over the weekend, the 44-year-old played a big role in a toy drive in Chicago. He funded the donation of over 4,000 toys for children in the neighbourhood of Englewood — which is sometimes called the "murder capital" of Chicago.
Kanye West a "modern-day Santa" donating toys to kids
West received high praise for his generosity. Chicago Alderman Stephanie Coleman said she is "so proud that Kanye is, once again, responding to our request to help the children." She added that he was like a "modern-day Santa Claus" for the kids.
Kanye, who was raised in Chicago, performed the good deed after he recently predicted he'll be living homeless within a year.
He plans to turn all his properties into churches and orphanages and apparently live around them with an unfixed address. So he's certainly been in a giving mood lately.
Despite the good press, it doesn't look like Kanye will be getting his Christmas wish of winning back his estranged wife Kim Kardashian.
