Miley Cyrus is one of the celebrities that will be joining Lil Nas X's new holiday concert series for Amazon Music! As People shares, Cyrus will be helping the "Old Town Road" singer kick off Amazon Music Holiday Plays when she's featured in Tuesday's episode, and she talked about the opportunity to take the festive stage in an exclusive interview!
Cyrus shares that her concert set is "about my evolution"
Cyrus, who released her new album Plastic Hearts on Friday, opened up about what makes her performance in the festive show so unique. "This Amazon Music special is unlike anything I've ever done before," she shared with People. "In creating my set, I wanted to mimic a world that showcased specific reference points of my life."
She went on to explain that she also wanted her performance to reflect her journey so far. "We all have a history and I've had an incredibly unique life. I've been on magazines and posters since I was a kid and people have seen the tough, beautiful, hard and glamorous points of it all," she explained. "This is me, and this performance is about my evolution – embracing all versions of it."
Cyrus told to "Christmas up" performance in fun teaser for show
Cyrus and Lil Nas X appear together in a satirical teaser advertising the show, where the rapper tells her that she needs to "Christmas up her performance." Cyrus doesn't seem to be a fan of this suggestion, dismissing his suggestions for making her performance more festive before finally walking off! "God, she's an icon," Lil Nas X says at the end of the clip.
Amazon Music Holiday Plays isn't the first time that Cyrus and Lil Nas X have teamed up. together, since the duo performed together at last year's Glastonbury Festival. Lil Nas X also famously recorded the chart-topping hit "Old Town Road" with Miley's dad, Billy Ray Cyrus!
As People mentions, Cyrus will be singing several of the songs from Plastic Hearts, including "Prisoner"— which she recorded as a collab with pop star Dua Lipa— as well as a cover of "Last Christmas"! Lil Nas X is also set to open Tuesday's show, which will be available to watch on Amazon Prime at 8 PM ET. Cyrus isn't the only notable name to join the show either, as the concert series' last two episodes will feature Kiana Ledé and the Foo Fighters!
