Macy's Independence Day show features socially distant fireworks

Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular has also taken into account the world's current circumstances. People reveals that leading up to the event, there will be unannounced fireworks displays in New York City from June 29 to July 4 at different land or water-based areas.

As People shares, the 5-minute long shows were created as a way for New Yorkers to enjoy the fireworks while still practicing social distancing. They aim to "showcase Macy's signature pyrotechnic design and scale," some launching as far as 1000 feet in the air!

Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular will air on July 4 at 8 PM ET on NBC, with an encore performance set to follow at 10 PM ET.
